August 5th, 2008 · No Comments

GREENBELT, MD - 07/28/08 – Judge Peter J. Messitte of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland has today denied, on all counts, defendant’s motion for summary judgment in Bado v. Southland Industries, Inc.  Judge Messitte has ordered trial to commence in March 2009 on Mr. Bado’s wrongful discharge claim in violation of Maryland public policy articulated in Maryland’s Workers’ Compensation Act.  In his complaint, Mr. Bado, a former plumber for Southland Industries, alleges, among other things, that Southland Industries terminated his employment after he notified his employer that he injured himself while at work. R. Scott Oswald and Greg Sharma-Holt of The Employment Law Group® law firm are representing Mr. Bado.
